Terms & Conditions
Effective August 15, 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to journeys operated by Journeys East Travel, LLC (“Journeys East,” “JE,” “we,” or “us”). By booking a journey with Journeys East, each guest agrees to these Terms & Conditions.
1. Booking & Payment
A deposit equal to 25% of the journey price per guest is due at booking and confirms the guest’s reservation.
The remaining balance is due 90 days before departure. For reservations made within 90 days of departure, full payment is due at booking.
Private journeys, special departures, or custom arrangements may be subject to different payment schedules or supplier requirements, which will be communicated before booking.
2. Guest Cancellation
For bookings made more than 90 days before departure, Journeys East provides a 48-hour courtesy cancellation period following booking. Cancellations received within this period will receive a full refund.
After this period, the following cancellation charges apply:
91 days or more before departure: 25% of the total journey price
90–31 days before departure: 50% of the total journey price
30 days or fewer before departure: 100% of the total journey price
Bookings made within 90 days of departure are not eligible for the 48-hour courtesy cancellation period.
Cancellations must be made in writing and become effective when received by Journeys East.
No refund or credit is provided for journey components voluntarily unused or missed because of circumstances personal to a guest.
3. Journey Confirmation & Cancellation by Journeys East
Journeys East operates intentionally small-group journeys. If participation is insufficient to operate a departure, Journeys East may cancel that departure no later than 90 days before departure.
If Journeys East cancels for insufficient participation, all amounts paid to Journeys East for that journey will be refunded in full.
Journeys East is not responsible for independently purchased airfare, accommodations, visa expenses, or other arrangements not purchased from Journeys East. Guests are encouraged to consider flexible travel arrangements and appropriate travel insurance.
Once a departure has been confirmed, subsequent individual guest cancellations will not, by themselves, cause Journeys East to reconsider the departure solely because group size has decreased.
4. Journey Price, Inclusions & Personal Expenses
The journey price and inclusions are those stated in the applicable journey description and booking confirmation.
Depending on the journey, inclusions may include accommodations, transportation during the journey, specified meals and dining experiences, selected beverages, sightseeing and experiences, admissions, local guides or specialists, Journeys East hosting services, and gratuities associated with included services.
Additional alcoholic beverages or other items ordered independently by a guest are personal expenses.
Services and expenses not expressly included are the guest’s responsibility. These may include international airfare, passport and visa expenses, travel insurance, room upgrades, additional hotel nights, spa services, laundry, minibar charges, personal purchases, and independent pre- or post-journey arrangements.
Gratuities for Journeys East hosts, local guides, drivers, and included services are included. Additional gratuities are neither required nor expected.
Once a reservation is confirmed, Journeys East will not increase the journey price because of ordinary changes in exchange rates, supplier pricing, or operating costs. Journeys East may pass through material new or increased government-imposed taxes, fees, permits, or similar mandatory charges arising after booking.
5. Accommodations & Rooming
Published per-person prices based on shared occupancy assume two guests sharing a room. Guests choosing private room occupancy are responsible for the applicable solo occupancy price or supplement.
Room preferences, including bedding configuration, connecting rooms, views, floors, or upgrades, may be requested but cannot be guaranteed.
If one guest in a shared room cancels, Journeys East will work reasonably with the remaining guest regarding the room arrangement. Any material incremental accommodation cost not otherwise covered may be the responsibility of the remaining guest.
6. Itinerary Changes
Journeys East designs each journey around its overall route, character, pacing, experiences, and standard of travel. Specific details may evolve before or during the journey.
Journeys East may make reasonable changes to hotels, restaurants, guides, transportation, activities, timing, or the order of experiences when circumstances warrant. We will make reasonable efforts to preserve the overall character, quality, and key elements of the journey.
A change to an individual hotel, restaurant, guide, activity, timing, or other component does not by itself entitle a guest to a refund.
If circumstances require a material change to the journey, Journeys East will communicate the change as soon as reasonably practical and seek an appropriate solution consistent with the nature and standard of the journey.
7. Extraordinary Circumstances
Circumstances outside Journeys East’s reasonable control may materially affect the safe or practical operation of a journey. These may include severe weather or natural events, public-health emergencies, government actions or restrictions, civil disturbance, strikes, or significant transportation disruption.
When reasonably possible, Journeys East will adapt the journey or arrange appropriate alternatives while seeking to preserve its overall character and standard.
If extraordinary circumstances make it impracticable or inappropriate to operate all or a material part of a journey, Journeys East may modify, postpone, or cancel affected arrangements.
Journeys East will make reasonable efforts to recover or avoid supplier costs. For services cancelled and not provided, guests will receive amounts recoverable by Journeys East, less reasonable, documented, non-recoverable journey-specific costs actually incurred or irrevocably committed.
Journeys East will not retain amounts as profit on services cancelled and not provided because of extraordinary circumstances. Nothing in this section limits any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be limited.
8. Passports, Visas & Entry Requirements
Guests are responsible for ensuring they hold all passports, visas, permits, and other documentation required for their journey and satisfy applicable entry requirements.
Journeys East may provide general guidance and supporting journey documentation where appropriate but cannot guarantee the issuance of a visa or admission by governmental authorities.
If a guest is unable to travel because applicable passport, visa, or entry requirements have not been satisfied, the standard guest cancellation terms apply.
9. Health, Mobility & Medical Assistance
Journeys East journeys may involve walking, stairs, uneven surfaces, extended periods of sightseeing on foot, and other physical activity described in the applicable journey materials.
Guests are responsible for considering whether a journey is appropriate for their individual circumstances and for informing Journeys East before travel of relevant mobility or accessibility needs that may materially affect participation.
Journeys East will make reasonable efforts to accommodate disclosed needs where feasible but does not provide ongoing personal or medical assistance. A guest requiring regular physical assistance should travel with an appropriate companion or make suitable arrangements.
If a guest becomes ill or injured during a journey, Journeys East will make reasonable efforts to assist in accessing appropriate local care and communicating where practical. Medical treatment, medications, hospitalization, evacuation, additional accommodations, changes to personal travel arrangements, and other guest-specific expenses remain the guest’s responsibility.
In an urgent situation where a guest is unable to act on their own behalf, Journeys East may contact emergency services, medical providers, the guest’s emergency contact, or other appropriate persons when reasonably necessary to protect the guest’s health or safety.
Journeys East may require a guest to refrain from or discontinue an activity where continued participation creates a material safety concern and, in exceptional circumstances, may require a guest to discontinue the journey where the guest cannot safely continue or their needs cannot reasonably be accommodated.
10. Dietary Requirements & Allergies
Guests should advise Journeys East in advance of dietary restrictions and food allergies.
Journeys East will make reasonable efforts to communicate and accommodate dietary requirements but cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment or the food-preparation practices of restaurants, hotels, or other food-service providers.
Guests with severe or medically significant dietary restrictions should discuss their requirements with Journeys East before travel.
11. Guest Conduct
Guests are expected to behave respectfully toward fellow guests, Journeys East personnel, guides, suppliers, local communities, and others encountered during the journey and to comply with applicable laws and reasonable safety instructions.
Journeys East may intervene where a guest’s conduct creates a material safety risk; involves harassment, threats, abuse, or illegal conduct; or seriously and repeatedly disrupts the journey or our ability to operate it.
Where reasonably appropriate, Journeys East will first seek to resolve the situation with the guest. Serious conduct or continued disruption may result in the guest being required to leave the journey.
A guest required to leave for such conduct is not entitled to a refund for unused journey components and is responsible for resulting personal travel expenses.
12. Travel Insurance
Journeys East strongly recommends comprehensive travel insurance appropriate to the guest’s circumstances and journey, including consideration of coverage for trip cancellation and interruption, medical expenses, emergency evacuation and repatriation, baggage, and travel delays.
Journeys East’s cancellation terms apply regardless of whether a guest purchases insurance or whether an insurer reimburses a claim.
13. International Airfare & Independent Arrangements
Unless expressly stated otherwise, international airfare to and from the journey is not included. Guests are responsible for their own international flight arrangements and applicable airline terms and costs.
Before a journey has been formally confirmed, guests who choose to purchase airfare or other independent arrangements are encouraged to use flexible or refundable arrangements or appropriate travel insurance.
Pre- and post-journey arrangements may be accommodated or assisted with by Journeys East when available but are separate from the published journey unless expressly included.
Guests who choose to deviate from the group itinerary are responsible for their own alternative arrangements and associated costs. Journeys East may provide reasonable assistance where practical but does not undertake to arrange separate individual transportation or itineraries.
14. Independent Travel Suppliers & Responsibility
Journeys East arranges certain journey components through independent hotels, transportation providers, restaurants, guides, activity providers, and other travel suppliers. These suppliers are separate businesses responsible for the services they provide and for their own acts and omissions.
Journeys East remains responsible for its own acts and obligations and for duties imposed by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions waives or limits any responsibility that cannot lawfully be waived or limited.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Journeys East is not responsible for an independent supplier’s acts or omissions outside Journeys East’s reasonable control, or for loss, damage, delay, injury, expense, or disruption resulting from circumstances Journeys East could not reasonably prevent or control.
Journeys East will make reasonable efforts to assist when a supplier issue materially affects the journey and, where appropriate, arrange a reasonable alternative.
15. Travel Risks
International travel involves risks that cannot be eliminated entirely, including transportation delays, weather, illness or injury, differences in local infrastructure and services, governmental action, and other circumstances associated with travel.
Guests accept the ordinary and reasonably foreseeable risks inherent in participating in the journey.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions releases Journeys East from responsibility for its own negligence or other liability to the extent such responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
16. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms & Conditions and the guest’s booking with Journeys East are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
Before commencing formal legal proceedings, the guest and Journeys East agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve any dispute directly.
Unless applicable law requires otherwise, any legal action arising from these Terms & Conditions or a journey operated by Journeys East shall be brought in a state or federal court having jurisdiction in Florida.
If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
These Terms & Conditions, together with the applicable booking confirmation and any journey-specific terms expressly incorporated into the booking, constitute the agreement between Journeys East and the guest concerning the booking. If a journey-specific term expressly differs from these Terms & Conditions, the journey-specific term controls with respect to that journey.
A failure by Journeys East to enforce a provision on one occasion does not constitute a waiver of that provision on another occasion.
