WHY JOURNEYS EAST
The best trips rarely come down to a checklist of famous places.They are shaped by the choices in between: the hotel you return to at the end of the day, the restaurant someone knew to take you to, the neighborhood worth lingering in, the story that changes how you see what is in front of you — and knowing when to leave the afternoon open.
That is how we think about every Journeys East journey.
TWO PERSPECTIVES, ONE STANDARD
Marcus, Co-Founder
Marcus grew up in China and has spent much of his adult life in the United States. He brings an understanding of both cultures, the language, and the small differences that can shape how a place feels to someone experiencing it for the first time.
His perspective brings context to the journey — from the stories behind the places you visit to the restaurants, hotels, pacing and everyday moments that help bring China to life.
Jeff, Co-Founder
Jeff grew up in Florida and has traveled extensively across Europe, Asia and North America. He brings the perspective of an experienced Western traveler, with a strong appreciation for exceptional hospitality, comfort and service.
His perspective keeps the guest experience front and center — what needs explanation, what helps someone feel comfortable, which experiences are genuinely worth including, and which are better left out.
Together, Marcus and Jeff approach each journey from both sides — with an understanding of the destination and of the person experiencing it for the first time.
HOW WE BUILD OUR JOURNEYS
We spend time on the ground.We stay in the hotels, try the restaurants, walk the neighborhoods, test the routes and experience the places ourselves. Some things make the journey. Some do not.
The standard is simple:
Would we be excited to experience this ourselves?
When the answer is yes, we find the right way to make it part of the journey.
